BECOMING GERMAN: THE NATURALIZATION OF ETHNIC GERMANS IN OCCUPIED POLAND, 1940 TO 1945

The process of naturalization for ethnic Germans from Bessarabia, Bukovina, Galicia, the Baltic Countries and the Soviet Union (incl. Volhynia) in what the Nazis called the Warthegau in occupied Poland during the Second World War. It will also examine the Einwanderer Zentrastelle (EWZ) records that documented this process including discussion of their usefulness for genealogical research.
